What Is This Lock

Hi all, first thanks for the welcome to your forum, I am so happy to have found a site that may help me with my lock and key collection, I hope my post makes it thru, I have this lock and dont know its age, value, etc?, I will try to attach photo to my post. The lock measures apx. 2-½″ × 1-½″ × ½″, it appears to be solid brass, with the only marking being Pat Feb 25.90, it has a slide/push type flat key, the front and bach both have what appears to be a crown. any one have any ideas on what its worth, where it came from, who the maker may have been?, Thanks so much, and again, I hope to spend a little time with this forum

Nice lock! That lock was made by Union Lock & Hardware Co. .Value can be fairly good, I would think $75-$100 with the working key, but the lock must be in good workable condition. The patent for the lock is 421966. (go to Google patents). From the patent drawings it appears that your key is an origional also.:8):

Thank you for the info. I have had the lock since i was a kid, been most likely 45 plus years, i did not know about the patent site, thats great, I must check that out.
