oldbiscuit I recently purchased this padlock from Con in England with the help of his brother in law Ant. I love locks with different from the norm locking mechanisms and keys. This lock fit that description and I was able to impression and cut a key to fit. Alas though I’m still no further along in identifying the maker. It reminded me of a Cotterill at first due to the shape. It was suggested it was Indian, but it’s made from cast steel with a riveted front plate. The workmanship and fit & finish leads me to believe it was mass produced although maybe not in large numbers. I’m leaning toward either English or New England made and probably late 1800’s or very early 1900’s.:8):
