Bert Hello Members, It appears I have a new area of interest, Antique Padlocks! One I just obtained at a sale, came home without the combination. I have tried “systematic manipulation” as suggested by Dan of vintagecombinationlocks.com. Dan kindly sent me instructions, I have tried about 900 combos. So far no luck, fingers are a bit sore. Would any one have the combo in their code book? I see the rules so I’ll attempt to upload photos. The lock is a J.B, Miller Red dot. Pat Number 1825467. It has a single number stamped on the shackle, it is (5). I would be very excited to be able to open this lock, and hope to find many more. thank you so much!
wylk The “5” is probably just the model number. If there is a code it would be stamped on the underside of the shackle, a poor choice because after years of hanging on a hasp it could wear off.
Bert wylk, I don’t see any other numbers or markings. This would mean a lot more working through the list…
