Russian Padlock

Recently somebody gift me this. Can anyone give me information on this? The lock is 4 ½″ high X 3 ¾″ wide, and the key is 2 ⅞″ long. It works fine.

This padlock is made approximately 1988-1992 years.On the surface of the lock shown its price-2 rubles 90 kopecks “Ц2р.90к.” It was a rule in the USSR - indicate the price of the product.After 1992 these prices have not been …🙂-: inflation…Perhaps the lock is made in one of the many factories whose products became worthless after the collapse of the Soviet Union.Such a mechanism locks was very popular in the early 90’s Factory logo, I could not find.Maybe the logo is changed, or the plant is closed.

Thank you VERY much for that information! It is interesting that the price would be cast into the lock…. makes price changes VERY hard to do after it is made.

No. It happens all over that the manufacture goes under and the logo drops out of use. We will find all of what you have said interesting. Mostly becouse it was about locks. 🙁nod):

This combination padlock VS 6. In the Russian transcription - “ Замок навесной кодовый ВС 6 ”
This lock is made in the city Kozmodemyansk .In the Russian transcription - “ Козьмодемьянск ”. This is indicated by the letter “k” in the logo.
Kozmodemyansk steel plant. The plant site is not even on the internet and was appointed bankruptcy trustee …Apparently it really bad … This is a link to Google maps :

In Russia, the cost of such a padlock around 4 USD.The same locks produced in Ukraine, Kharkov.
