Sorry Gary my mistake I was thinking of the later stuff when you said mk9 I wasn’t thinking of the older type with bar handle and block hinges.
Didn’t realise there were that many updated versions of those older ones tbh, although that type was the only version I ever had to drill (thankfully!). Had the shot like ball bearings in the mix and the old style boltwork.
Always thought the dead relockers on those were works of art in themselves -beautifully made castings with amazingly sharp saw-tooth notches.
From memory I’ worked on only a few of the later brown with black 3-spoke handle (but didn’t ever have to open one),but the transition inbetween is blurred and I can’t recall seeing any earlier models of the later type.
The tann book I’ve got is the 5th edition from 1992, which I think was the last of only 5. The 1st was 85, 86, 87, 88, and 92.
Let us know if the first bolt codes are of any use and I’ll post them up.
