I recently purchased a large ( 4.5 inch by 3.5 inch by 1inch thick lock ) by t. slaight dated 1852. I have not been able to find this lock in any referrance books I have. I have only been able to find smaller ones with 1865 patents. Can anybody give me any information on this lock? Is it authentic? what it was used for? etc.
