wylk In the November 13 1926 issue of The Sphere, a bank vault door is shown that would spray “super-heated steam” on any attempted burglar. This was a new approach to me and clearly shows a different approach to liability. The door seems to still exist, at 1 Exchange Place in Jersey City, housing the Hyatt House Jersey City. Available imagery shows it in poor and rusted condition.
