Never seen detachable bits on this lock before. Look very dodgy as there’s nothing obvious to prevent the bit detaching in the lock.
The bow carries the number 26696 which was the number of the Chatwood Diamond in the Tann Safe Museum which when it was acquired was minus the massive lock cover plate and the 9-lever Invincible keylock.
To demonstrate the principal I had a separate complete Composite lock and key with a handle and spindle attached to demonstrate the entire mechanism. After the Museum closed I learned that the safe had found it’s way as far as Tyne & Weir bur I’ve no idea where it is now.
