Found these old prints for Hall’s double door safes. The first one marked Hall’s 1849 Patent seems typical, albeit beautifully ornate down to the smallest of details- inside and out.
The second is an advert for a Burglar Proof model which surprised me with what appear to be interlocking dovetails in the steps around the doors and frame- cant say I’d seen this on these early safes before.
