early chubb safe

Hello,a while ago I got this double door chubb safe from a scrap yard, I have now wanted to try and date it as i see Chubbs serial numbers were recorded.
I havent had the lock out yet but it has original chubb key(st pauls churchyard)
On the shoot bolts it has the number 1343 stamped on the ends. The key moves the bolts directly as opposed to most safes.
The brass name plate has st pauls churchyard

I will try and get photos up…when I can find the camera!

Pictures will be useful, as will lock serial numbers as safes of this vintage with original locks can provide insights into the early vagueness of the numbering system.

Attached should be some pictures of the safe lock,it has a detector.behind the lock is a brass plate with chubb and sons,maker to her majesty number 240420 st pauls church yard.

The standard reference sheets are more or less in agreement here :

Safe serial 1343 fits within : 1298 - 1699 (1852/1853)
Lock serial 240420 fits within 222510 - 260376 (1847/1854)

The safe records (held by Gunnebo) would be you best bet for more accurate info as the lock books for this period are missing.
