I made one back in the early 1990s which remains the only example we ever encountered. An enjoyable but labour intensive and time consuming process.
With no keyblanks available for them, it involved fabricating the blank to the exact ‘v’ configuration, but also required removal of the lock from the safe for the final cutting and fitting. There is also the potential unknown as to the condition of the lock, even if it’s working. They are certainly an unusual idea and potentially even more time consuming than Cotterill’s radial slider locks, unless you can find someone who has a ready made blank to suit- basically a lot of work for what amounts to a single extra key.
BTW thanks for posting the pictures- I never got to see the actual safe of the example I did as the customer was 150 miles away and removed the lock himself, so I’d often wondered what the safe and escutcheon was like!
