One of a Kind Rare Mosler Firejacket Cannonball Safe

This forum has always had a strong interest in Cannonball safes, so I thought you would be interested in my latest completed project. It is a very rare Circa 1902 Mosler Fire Jacket Safe fully restore. The safe weighs approx. 6500 lbs. We do not know of another restored one anywhere. The project took 7 months to complete. It took a team of three of the best at their craft to make this happen. Matt Lamborn paint and assembly, Doug Seybold custom Plating, and Doug Macqueen lock and mechanical work.

Very common. I have got about half a dozen of those in the yard. I am waiting for the scrap dealer to move them out.

Very nice indeed. So when you had the auction a while back you were only thinning your collection - not giving up ?

So re this safe - it’s a fire resistant cannonball ??

No I have not given up at all. I am as busy as ever. Go to my web site and look at all the new safes on “Guy’s Special Safes”. True Salesman samples and several one of a kind pieces.With this one, they took a conventional Mosler cannonball safe which originally had no fire protection and built a custom fire jacket to fit around it to provide that. As to the fact that I called it a “one of a Kind”, I was refering to that it was the only Mosler that we know of that has ever been fully restored like this one. Any others I have seen are like the other man said, sitting in a field. I prefer mine!
