Well off subject but - not many people know this ……
The safe recovered from the debris field of the Titanic in 1985 was a Thos.Perry. 
It was mistakenly identified as the Purser’s safe (absolute nonsense) and was displayed as such in a television show
hosted by Telly Savalas called “Return to the Titanic” in which the only part of the safe which hadn’t completely rusted away - the door blade with handle and nameplate - which has been fitted inside a modern safe ‘for security’, was opened with great ceremony to reveal a leather satchel containing passenger’s jewellery!!
In fact it was the Milner Safe Co. who supplied the safes including that for the Purser’s use and passenger’s safe deposit, the contents of which were salvaged by the Purser before the vessel went down but never found.
A more recent television show called “Last Mysteries of the Titanic” in which one of the Xbots submersibles enters the Purser’s office, the twin pull handles of one large safe are just about discernible.
Just before the ship went down it broke in two, the smaller part being the section from which most of the debris including the safe (passenger’s property in the hold) was strewn. The foremost section still largely intact was the site of the bridge, officer’s quarters, and the Purser’s office.
Back on subject. Perry made a range of qualities from basic fire-resistant (such as above) to a light thief-resisting quality similar to the Milner Holdfast. Main door locks were mostly Hobbs Protector and drawer locks by Aubin.
When they closed the business in 1911 among companies settling accounts were Harrod’s Stores Ltd. and C.H.Griffiths the safe makers.
