Doug MacQueen I was wondering if anyone can give the period when these Chatwood locks were made. Unfortunately no pictures yet but the lock body and internals are solid brass and about 5″ X 3-½″. Attached to the back of the lock is a large hockey puck sized 4 lever key lock used to reset the combination. Internally the lock has 2 sets of geared wheels, making the lock a indirect drive. The key separates the 2 wheel sets for a comb change. Any ideas? Thanks Doug
Paul Prescott Chatwood SAM lock is what you have. Most usually used as control locks on keylock shutters. Nice top quality locks, sometimes they have the safe serial numbers on them and can be dated.
Doug MacQueen Thanks Oldlock. I see macslocks 07 posted pictures in 2009 so I won’t bother with that. There are several number sets stamped into the case. 170985, 7.5. 58, 13 8 51, and a small OS 12. An exact year is not so important just the era. Thanks
