LilCountryGal I have a mosler safe that I’m trying to get a background and value of… Its dated to be 1883. Appears to be all original. Someone once told me that it was stolen from a bank in early 1900’s. If anyone could help it would be appreciated. Just let me know any additional info u need and I will try to locate it. I haven’t found a serial number. As of yet.

I have to say that looks like a suspicious hole between the handle and dial. it may have been drilled to open it. if you remove the inner cover to the door (technically called a “pan”) then the combination lock should be accessible. cheers tom [unknown]

I’m not good at this like that. I just want learn the history and value. Possibly sell to maybe someone that restores or collects [unknown]
wylk Mosler safes often have a serial number stamped on the handle which can be used to date it. It looks like part of the combination lock is missing which is a shame and will reduce the value.

Drilling it does mess up the lock a bit, combined with missing bits does I am afraid suggest that it has very limited value sorry [unknown]
