Tom Gordon wroteCash covers are figures independently decided apon by each insurance company. Each will have different experiences of attacks and effectiveness. The AiS does have some Safe Lists but not many vaults. Older vaults will be subject to a lot of discussion as to how effective they are in the modern age. Othe r factors will bear strongly on the result. Euro standards for safes were meant to make this more universal, but then the different testing houses had different ideas of how they should test (with wildly varying results).

As Tom says, there are many variables that affect the cash cover which can be given in strong-rooms but in practice self-insurance is the norm. Although the quality of the door is a major consideration, the siting of the structure is of more security significance. Island site with narrow inspection corridors, wall thickness, type and placement of reinforcement, specification and quality control of concrete all have to be in balance with the risk together with the attractiveness of the contents and the degree of professionalism that it will attract.
