I’ve seen on ebay and craigslist where people have for sale what they think or have been told by “dealers” are salesman sample safes.I have a Meilink Home Deposit safe and a Victor safe that are about 13″-14″ high and about 10″ wide. These are not salesman samples (they’re too big), but I see others on the web that advertise them as salesman samples.
There is a safe on the LaCrosse,WI craigslist advertised as a salesman sample. If you look this up it’s the black safe made of sheetmetal. My uncle had one just like it in the early 50’s that I inherited. It had been painted blue when I got it.My mother vividly recalls my uncle ordering it from a mail-order catalog.A person is not going to order a salesman sample of anything. These safe were just that—–small safes, nothing more.
