Diebold safe

Hello! I recently moved my parents from their home to an assisted living facility. I had to leave an old Diebold safe at their residence because it is much too heavy to be moved from their basement. It was originally purchased by my father for his medical practice. It is presently locked. My father now has Alzheimer’s disease and cannot remember the combination. He is also uncertain as to whether there is anything in the safe. It is designated as an “one hour safe” with a serial # 14493. How can I get the safe combination? Are these on file with the company? Are there individuals who are willing to market their safe cracking skills?

When the safe left the factory it probably would have been set to a default combination, however almost all owners will have subsequently changed that combination to something else.

Hi Sue, yes there safecrackers who market their skills all over the country and I would be one of them. There are a few others who frequent this forum as well. Where are you located? General area that is. Doug

Hi! I’m in the Phoenix ,Arizona area.

Cities as large as Phoenix will have shops that do safe work. Try to find one that does openings by manipulation and drilling, if possible. Not that your safe will be dialed open, it just helps to verify the depth of the companies skill level. Bottom line is you should still have a functional safe when the job is done. Doug

Thanks , Doug. I have contacted a few, but the personnel has informed me that the present lock would be drilled out leaving a nonfunctioning case. I wish you were here!

Actually the weather here in Cleveland today is ideal. I did live in Tuscon back in 1970 though and really liked it there. So, you may not have yet hit the right company. Put up a picture of the safe on here and lets see what you have. Doug
