Safe ID Required

Hi guys, I have been sent this picture of this safe by someone who needs it opening but I can’t ID it from the plate. Any idea’s please would be welcome.

I too cannot make out what it says on the plate, however, I want to shed a few options.

The safe appears to be a standard plate safe, made in the region of c1890. Nice paint job too!. My speculative guess, is that it is a milner body, with an 8 lever lock fitted. I cant see it as a Bates body, Perrys were similar hinges at the time.

I cant tell if it’s an Invoiable lock from the photo. However, it shouldn’t pose a tough nut to pick.

You just gotta open it as the suspense is building up!

Thanks for the input Russell, I will find out a bit more tomorrow when I actually visit site. Will obviously try to pick, but at the moment I don’t know what to expect so I’m in suspense too… Will give you an update in due course 🙁nod):

Russell, Safe update. Today I went to open this one. Tried picking for quite a while but got nowhere with it. Then got the drill out….. worked out usual position for this type of safe and lock and after going through about 5-8mm of very difficult hardplate, came up with an empty space in the lock !!!!!! I could just see the edge of the levers so, re-calculated a new position which I have never come across before and O.K. so drill again… this time I was bang on position and found out why it wouldn’t pick. The lock was fitted with an Anti-Tension lever / floating boltstump. Anyway, got it open and tried to take the pan off to look at the make of lock etc but again thwarted….. Six bolts holding the pan on and four of them just turning but not unscrewing. Looked the safe over and no markings whatsoever except a few random numbers stamped on top of door edge. So end result, no safe ID to go on - no lock to examine - no confirmed make of lock. I think it may have been an Aubin’s or something of that quality. The only good thing was the customer has decided to buy a new safe from me 🙁happy): so it turned out ok in the end. At least I know what to expect if ever I see another one ehh Tim

the locks on the drawers would often give an indication of who made it, but I assume that there was nothing there either. I wouldnt expect a decent safe manufacturer to be making this sort of safe especially with no name anywhere at all -very unusual.

Also unusual is the 2 dome head screws they seem a little ahead of there time for this age of safe. Did you manage to get any picks inside the back pan.

Thanks for the replies guys. There were no names on the drawer locks or anywhere else, only the random numbers on the top edge of the door which obviously means nothing without further info. As for the door pan, four flat round head bolts and two dome head screws either side in the centre. Four bolts not unscrewing so failed to get the pan off without a lot of brute force and the customer was quite happy to get in it. I really wanted to know what it was and look at the lock but was disappointed in the end.
