beneath layers and layers of paint i uncovered a yale and townsend safe, patents on dial are 1882-1895 sold by the defunct national safe and lock co. cleveland ohio. It was manu. in stanford , Conn. , does anyone close to me (i’m in richwood , w.v. ) know enough about some thing like this safe to try to get into it? i’ll send some or set some pictures of it on this site asap

The thing to decide is what type of opening do you want? If you will allow drilling (quicker and cheaper) you will get in but the lock/dial might be damaged unless you are very specific of your desires. The other way is to have a manipulation done. Now this takes longer and there are even a few safe techs out there with a auto-dialer that is a machine that is placed on the safe and dials all the combos in a few days. So time is money and I would suggest you call at least a few to see what they general suggestion/prices are and if that meets with your needs.
