Hi,
my father in law owns an old safe and we are trying to open it.
We don’t know how old is and who made it.
The safe was closed many years ago by his mother and he doesn’t remember the “trick” to get it open.
We have the two keys and a spike.
To release the keyhole cover we insert the point of the spike in a hole near the lower corner of the cover.
Then, the smaller key acts like an handle retracting a latch (and works fine), but the bigger one turns freely in the lock, without engaging any mechanism and the two bolts don’t move.
I found that the upper key hole has a lever in it, and pushing it I can hear a mechanism spring shut, but nothing interesting happens.
I’m looking for any idea…
thanks in advance
Massimo
