Sorry for the poor pictures. I certainly wasn’t expecting to find the Yale on this little door. The July 28, 1885 Diebold patent drawing shows the lock making and breaking of handle to bolt engagement instead of the usual blocking. Apparently applying dynamite on the door face to blow the lock of the door was becoming popular in the 1880’s. Doug
