old yale and old security locks

My mother lives by Yuma, AZ. She does not have a computer and I live far away from her. She called and said she has these two locks that are very old and flat, said something about cowboy days. I know nothing about locks and my mother wants to find out about them. Any suggestions? I will provie contact info for my mom if that will help.

There is a book called ‘ The Padlock Collector ’ (I think - I can’t find mine at the moment) by Arnall. Your mother maybe able to find it in a library and identify the locks with it’s aid as it has lots of pictures.
