Hi Warren, your RE & Co key looks to be a rim lock key going by the length, the symmetrical cuts on the bit and the presence of the collar suggesting it operates from both sides of a lock.
The pin Gauge looks pretty slim though, so its unlikely anything heavy duty. Looking at the cuts on the bit it does look more secure than the basic warded lever stuff thats more commonly seen.
