i would like to see some pictures from the key collection.

for me it is too far to visit it.

I can’t offer you much except for the attached photographs. They were in the negative files of W H Stanton, a well known lock and safe expert who died recently and most of his safe records came my way.

Included were a few lock pictures and the name rang a bell when I saw your post. His index only refers to them as “Locks on doors of Old Ashmolean”. I have also seen the name Pitt Rivers somewhere in the mountain of files but I haven’t been able to trace the negatives yet.

but not in good quality.
only 1 from ashmolean.
from paris i have got nothing.

i suspect there are much more.
