Hey Mickthepick, Under a flashlight it looks smooth with a little dust to me and that angle didn’t do it justice but I’ll add a better picture. I also meant to include the length of the key which is 5.75 inches long. B [unknown]
Paul Prescott It’s a key for a ‘Carron’ type cast iron strongbox of the more common type. Probably 1750 - 1800 or thereabouts.
