str8shooter77 These came from a small area in India. I have had them for ever. I was going to give one to a friend that just started collecting. So I started to clean one up and saw the gold on them… Can anyone tell me what these are??
Gerry hello it is not gold, it is brass. you are right, this keys are from india, they are used until 20th century, they are not really old
Huw Eastwood I suggest you take it back and get it tested again as it’s clearly a brass or brazing alloy like Gerry said, and your keys are as he said in his post. As for one of them having a fossil on it, the members on this board were all born on different days, but I can assure you it wasn’t yesterday.
