I would like someone tell me his identification, how is the original paint , original decoration if the front plate have to be painted, or it have to be uncoated ( golden plated ). Tom Gordon The brass plate would have been either varnished or coated in a process that used mercury and gold (which is now illegal). Look on the back of the plate and then you will also probably see what colour the safe was originally painted.
