That’s a very good question Smeathen, did it lift a latch or slide a bolt. Perhaps both. This is the rather poor example in our collection. Kevin and patent and other collectors/members do you have examples so we can see the range of styles and sizes.

On the subject of Latch Lifters, I have submitted my example of a early
Key of unknown age. I am also wondering does this Key lift or Slide the mechanism ?
