Brian Morland MLA Hon The Kromer one is for the Differential lock - came about c1933 and was made until just after WWII.
Riyame Ah, thanks for the quick reply. I remembered seeing a picture of the key/lock somewhere but I could not quite remember which model it went to.
Adrian Weber This is not a Kromer Differential key. A Kromer Differential Key looks different and also has angled cuts. It was patented in 1932 and released 1935.
Brian Morland MLA Hon This is the Kromer lock and key: The wire bow key in the first post is almost certainly American in origin and very much older. (possibly Isham?) Do the bits swivel or are they fixed. Pity the bow is crushed though. The similarities are uncanny.

I have seen these keys arranged to have a 4-leaf clover look (like a German Kromer variation, I suppose) Note here - hard to see - the two end bits are slightly thicker. The one on eBay has the two (?) thicker ones dispersed - I am guessing they should be at the ends. Being in the wrong place - or a different place - could cause the key to bind or not work, I would expect. Does anyone know about a lock? [unknown]
