Here are two keys I found metal detecting. One is a FORD automobile key and the other I thought interesting due to the amount of information on it. For some reason I find the junk stuff almost as interesting as the good jewelry and coin finds. The Riker case shows just some of the stuff brought into the sunlight again.

Greg, The Ford key is a key for a Model A Ford. I think that there were about 20 different keys for the Model A. Most dealers had a key board with the cut and numbered keys. Not very secure in their day🙁wasntme):

The other is an Eagle Lock key as it says. It would be to a cabinet or a door lock. The letters on the one side is the key code, that tells me it is an original key for a lock. Being I can’t see the key blade I can’t say more.

Actually for a Model “T” Ford, 1909-1927. There were twenty four different switch keys in this series numbered 51 to 74. 1928-1931 Model “A” used Briggs & Stratton, Miller or Yale wafer tumbler keys.

Pete, I stand corrected, I knew it was the T, I don’t know why I put in A. I spent 6 years back in the early 80’s restoring model T’s for my old boss, we would do a ground up restoration on them going completely through every piece including putting in all new wood. I moved on,my old boss died,and his collection was split up and sold all over the place Those were sure some fun times🙁mm):
