I believe this is original and not a modern copy. I would guess it could br late, 18th century french? The detail is superb and it looks to me like it was hand carved as opposed to cast. I say this because there are no cast lines that the key is symetrical in design on the bow, but there are very tiny detaills that arent perfect mirrors. Like a missing hatch mark here or there, that is on the opposite side. It also looks gold plated. Anyone have feedback? Thanks
