This looks like a nice heavy duty Padlock.
The shape of the keyway is also substantial.
I think that an original key would have been made from brass or bronze?
The key beard has a tapered shape instead of the verticle sides.
One method is to use a brass pipe to make the key shaft.
A brazier could attach the keybeard.
