I have researched this lock a bit and have also came up empty (sorry). However, I can give you a little info from a collectors point of view.. If I had to guess I would agree with French, but it may be German. Your lock looks like it is in very nice - uncleaned shape with an original key. From the pictures, it looks like it works and seems to have no blemishes. As for a date - I would guess 1920’s. As for value, I would have to say that a piece like that would probably bring $200 - $350 USD. These are guesses and I really could be way off, but this is the price I would be willing to pay for it, so concider it an educated guess. It is a really neat lock! Thanks for sharing it with us.
