Mystery Lock in Book from India

I recently purchased this wooden book (with a made in India sticker on the back) which appeared to be older, maybe from the 70’s. It didn’t come with a key but has a lock in it. I took the lock out to see it better and tried my local locksmiths collection of old replication keys with no luck.

Anyone know what kind of key works for this lock?

Renee, you might have better luck at antique furniture restoration places. They are likely to have a better selection of that type of key than the typical locksmith shop here in the U.S.

The key is a small pipe key and the lock has a single tumbler - no differs. You would call it a barrel-type bit key.
The locks were made in small sizes, often found on old caskets and moneyboxes. Try a handcuff key, you just might be lucky.
Your lock is presumably made in India, so I don’t know what size it is. Not a difficult key to make; once it goes into the lock and turns, it will almost certainly operate the lock.
