Ant Hello all more stuff thats come to light in the clean up some nice S Mordan locks Though no keys so after much deliberation cut a key for each one the 2 and a half inch Drawer lock was only a 4 slide affair while the key retaining cupboard was 6 slides I guessed at about 1860 to perhaps 1890 in date but just a stab in the dark really though as they are both stamped S Mordan & Co warrented patent some picture just to give you an idea. Richard Phillips There’s little to date Mordan locks; sometime between 1816 and 1940 would be safe – but not really helpful. The item to which the lock is fitted might give more clues.
