Hovey Combination Lock

David Hovey, a member of the forum, may have locksmithing in his blood. This patent lock does not exist in any collection I know of but odds are, it was made. Horace Hovey, patented this lock in 1875 and from Ayers, Massachusetts. The lock is one of many patented locks from the 1800’s yet to surface. Doug

I have read about it. You are right Doug. But that patented lock is of much useful in today’s world, although not for very big reserves or valuables. You can also find more information about patented locks and vaults, right here.
