Could someone help me date the lock in this photo? It is marked “[crown] /VR / J. Bramah” and “[crown] / VR / Patent”. It is attached to a large piece of rosewood furniture. I am thinking around mid-19th c. but when I look at chronologies of the Bramah firm around that time, I find Bramah and Robinson, Bramah & Co, or Bramah, Prestige and Ball - none of which seem to match exactly the markings on this lock.
