Here’s one you don’t see too many of- I’ve always been interested in any designs and mechanisms which stand out as being different, so this Parson’s patent is one of my favourites. Original condition lock but unfortunately with a very poor condition copied key, not worthy of inclusion. This is one of several in my collection awaiting new hand made keys from antique blanks.

I have never seen such complicated cabinet locks as yours here in Germany and the patent markings etc. on them are just so beautiful. This is wonderful but seeing an old restored cabinet with one of these locks would be even better, at least in my opinion :8):

Ah, what a refreshing change to see a Parson’s Balance Lever lock and a rare one at that, that is without a doubt a keeper.

If not then please pass the offer of sale to us, Pretty please!

It’s only worthy of a real collectors collection.

Has anyone ever seen an example of the changeable version ?

I’ve never seen one, not even a Patent drawing, I’m sure it would have been either hard/costly to manufacture or it was unreliable so was withdrawn without many being made, it could have been unpopular who knows, it’s unlikely that we’ll see one in our lifetime.

I wonder how many levers this lock has, care to tell us Max?
