I am new to forums, so please don’t shoot me if I’m in the wrong area. I have a lock, a friend left to me. It has a sliding bar, and an odd appendage on the back. It is marked on a brass tag “Ka-Ge” Schloss and below is Marked D.R.P.a. I did a little research and the D.R. P. a. supposedly means it was patent applied for during the Nazi occupation? Deutsches Reich - Patent (angemeldet? I am curious as to whether this was a door lock, or prison cell lock and as to any value it might have. I opened the back and it has thin brass plates. I was told by a local locksmith, are called Wards? The key in the picture fits the lock but a couple of the thin flat springs on the Wards are worn in two The exterior of the lock is steel. The key is steel with a copper rib soldered onto it, I would guess as a guide. The keyhole at one time, had a thin brass cover, which the remains are visible in the photo under the rivet head. There are no other marks on the lock that I can find. Any help here would be greatly appreciated!.🙁nod):
