“F.T. WITTE HARDWARE CO. CHAMBERS ST. NEW YORK” is stamped on the obverse of the shackle.
Low Rounded Shackle.
I believe that this is the Francis T. Witte Hardware Co. of Sheffield, England and New York City, formed 1856.
The following have been seen stamped on the reverse of the shackle: “2”.
The reverse of the case is the same as the obverse.
The swirled finish on the case is very similar to that of some pancakes
made by the Corbin Cabinet Lock Co.
