furniture lock research paper

i am researching a paper on furniture locks, i have had great difficulty finding books on the subject specifically, i have had to pull resources from all directions. lock history in general i have nailed, and furniture history. but neither go into any great detail about furniture locks.
can anyone point me into a direction or give me information, on history of furniture locks, mechanisms used.

Furniture locks are, to a greater or lesser degree smaller versions of the larger locks. indeed almost all the makers offered cabinet versions of their patented designs.

As for a history, locks have been used for as long as there has been furniture I am sure.
