Doug MacQueen Here is a Marvin safe I dialed open yesterday. It is probably late 1860’s to early 1870’s. I am also including pictures of a slightly later Marvin with original paint that was sold last year in Cleveland for comparison. Both have the patent date of May 23, 1865 on the dials but this date relates to Marvin’s fire patent as both comb locks are S&G locks, with the full circular roller type being much more rare. Doug
