I have an antique cabinet that had an early cast brass pin and tumbler style dead bolt lock on it. On one side is stamped L. Yale Ds. Patent 1853 Renewed 1855?, and on the other side is stamped the number 234 which I assume to be the model number for this particular lock. Due to both the tumbler and locking bolt being offset from the center of the mounting plate, I can’t find a replacement for it now that it’s been damaged. Do any of you know where I might be able to find one of these to replace it?
So far, Yale Locks has been absolutely no help in the matter. I’ve already tried to contact their tech support half a dozen times and been blown off every time, even when the operator knows the fellow is in his office. Go figure. I’m trying to find out from him if there is a newer model of the same dimensions.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
