crythan Hi I bought a Georgian chest of drawers and this (see pic) lock is on a small drawer. It is the only example on the chest the other locks are ‘normal’ type. The small research I have done so far seems to not fit the given date patterns. Your comments would be most welcome. crythan
Paul Prescott The markings cannot always be relied upon. Did you see this article ? http://www.antique-locks.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=150
crythan Thanks for the reply It looks like it is post 1805 because the key bit is aligned with the slots. Please see the dreadful pic (sorry no macro lens) Can I get a key made from Bramah? or is it not worth the cost.
Paul Prescott You can get a key from Bramah or you can save yourself a bit and contact David Evans c/o Mostly Boxes, Eton High St, Eton. What picture ? Paul
