I have one of these. It is a warded lock, and was quite common. I have seen them on auction sites, and they go for $5 - $25 depending on condition and if a key is available. Yours is in fair shape, and I am assuming that you do not have a key.
I do not know the maker or any other info on it, but if I find anything I will post it here.
PS. Where can I get a “lock sniffing dog”?!
