Hi, the history of this lock; I bought it from a man in Newcastle along with several other locks a couple of years ago, His father had worked for a locksmiths co called “N F RAMSAY ” of Newcastle upon Tyne, I have an idea that this lock was from a royal rsidence because of the cypher. The lock is older than the decoration and the key is modern, I also got a couple more locks from the same guy more modern but with the same decorative spandrels, I rekon they were trying to have some kind of symetry in the house, anyhow when the company was sold and the guy retired he ended up with the locks.
