I have Milners triple gate locks in a small case where the levers protrude out of the rear of the lock, rather than having a full longer case like the one shown here. I was told that this was to use up surplus small cases so would assume the short cased versions are the earlier ones, does anyone know the truth of this?
Also why did Milners sometimes use brass? lock casings(not top and bottom plates) on some of their locks?
