I have one exactly like this except fot the
variation in the pattern of the steel pins,
and a curved beard.

It seems real from the design and skill of production.

Yes, Abraham Ogier Stansbury’s British patent secured on May 18th, 1805 and American patent obtained on February 11th, 1807.
This information comes from issue nº 14 (January-March, 2007) of the Lock Collector, which should be consulted for further details on this unusual pin-tumbler system. I highly recommend the Lock Collector to anyone interested in locks.
